Karuvepalai Podi

The healthiest of all podis! If you like the taste of curry leaves, you are sure to enjoy this with steaming rice and a drop of ghee! Yet another recipe from my grandma olly.

Wash curry leaves and dry them completely. Saute the dried leaves in a dry pan. Grind to a fine powder and keep aside.

Next take,

1 cup curry leaves
4 tbsp urad dal
1 tbsp toor dal
1 tsp pepper corns
1 tsp jeera
2 dried red chillies

Roast the above ingredients with 1 tsp oil/ ghee till golden. Grind to a coarse powder with enough salt and 4 dashes of hing. Mix the two poders to an even mixture. Serve with hot rice and a drop of ghee.
