Another podi recipe from my grandma... You can alter it to make Ellu/Sesame molagai podi, Karuvepali/Curry leaf molagai podi.

1/2 cup urad dal
1/2 cup channa dal
2 1/2 cup red dried chillies (if you don't like it too hot, just use 2 cups)
4 tsp oil
salt to taste
hing 4 dashes
Saute all the above ingredients with oil till golden brown. Grind to a coarse powder. Alternatively, slat can be added after grinding the powder.
To make ellu (with til/ sesame) molagai podi, add 1/4 cup til to the above ingredients and follow sme procedure.
For karuvepalai molagai podi, add 8-10 sprigs curry leaves to the above ingredients and grind.
Chutney podi is the same podi with lesser amount of red chillies (vary it according to your taste).
