Kadai Paneer

Kadai Paneer

I got his superb recipe from my sister-in-law Ramya. My sister made it yesterday and it came out very well! I have also tried this recipe earlier.. It is a sure hit!

Recipe Courtesy: Ramya (my sister-in-law)

Ingredients:
250 gms panneer - cut into cubes and deep fried
1 onion very finely chpopped or pureed
1 onion cubed
2 tsp dhania jeera powder
1/4 tsp haldi (turmeric)
1 tsp chilli powder
2 tsp kasoori methi
5 tomatoes ripe and juicy
1/2 red capsicum - diced
1/2 green capsicum - diced
100 gms whipping cream
pinch of sugar
2 tbs oil
4 cloves, 6 cashew pieces - powdered together
1 tsp ginger garlic paste

Method of preparation:
Cut paneer and fry in oil and immerse them in warm water as you fry and squeeze the water out gently.
Grind tomatoes - heat oil and fry the onions to golden brown.
Add ginger garlic paste and fry for 1/2 min
Add kasori methi and fry for 1/2 min
Add all other dry masalas and fry for 1 min( haldi, dhania, jeera chilli powder, pinch of sugar)
Do not add salt now. Add ground tomatoes and diced capsicum and cover and cook for 5 mins
Add salt and paneer pieces and cover and cook for 5 mins.
Stir gently in between
Add whipping cream till the red color changes to deep yellow and turn off the flame
Serve hot.

always loved this dish...btw a suggestion: why don't you add the approximate amount of calories for each dish...that way it'll be useful for diet-conscious ppl...
