Capsicum Korma

I got this recipe from my chinna paati Shanth. Thanks Sriram for sharing it with me :)
It has a distinct 'bell pepper'/ capsicum flavour.

Ingredients:

2 capsicum (use different colours)
1 onion
3 tomatoes
1 inch ginger
1 clove garlic (optional)
1 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp coriander/dhaniya powder
1/4 tsp jeera powder
1 tsp dried kasoori methi
chilli powder 1 tsp
1/4 tsp turmeric
salt to taste
1 cup milk or water
Coriander leaves for garnishing
oil 4 tsp

Note: I have used more of yellow capsicum in the photo above. Green and red capsicums can be added for a more colourful gravy.

Add some oil in a kadai. Cut capsicums into chunky squares. Add chopped bell peppers (capsicum) to the oil. Fry till well crisp. Keep aside.
Grind together onions, ginger garlic. Add this paste in the same oil. Fry till dry and oil separates.
Grind tomatoes and add the puree to the kadai now. Saute and add garam masala, dhaniya powder, jeera powder, salt, chilli powder, turmeric, Kasoori methi. Saute till dry.
Add the crisp capsicum pieces and simmer for 2 min. Add milk or water to bring to a smooth consistency.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve with hot rotis.
