Plantain Chips
My favourite snack!! The tastiest chips!! Any special occasion, mom makes vazhakai chips and gulab jamun for me.
Ingredients:
Long raw bananas
Salt to taste
Chilli powder- to taste
Peel off the skin of raw bananas. Cut off the edges
Heat sufficient oil for deep flying in a kadai.
Slice the plantains directly into hot oil using a mandalin slicer.
You can alternatively slice them in a plate and then transfer it into the hot oil.
Fry well till the oil reduces sizzling and the chips feel light and done.
Spread the fried chips on paper kitchen towels.
Sprinkle salt and chilli powder and mix well.
Enjoy!
Alternatively, you can also season it with salt, freshly cracked pepper and hing.

Aaahhaaa Super ah irukke Kitty... I used to love it when mom makes it. But I dont remember it being so thin. Yours are really very thin and lovely. Its tempting. Guess directly slicing onto hot oil needs some practice ;P
Btw, thanks for your clarification on the garlic use in that curd gravy. I will try sometime. I do started using garlic off late but skeptic about curd and garlic. But no harm in giving it a try :)
thank u all so much! actually sowmya, it is the mandalin slicer's trick...You get very thin slicers here.. yeah, when u slice directly into oil the oil vapours could be too hot...so it depends on how much heat u can take... better to slice on a plate and drop it off in oil..
