Roasted ingredients for Chutney
1 handful peanuts or 4 table spoons peanuts4 pieces coconut (2 tsp grated coconut)

1/2 onion chopped
4 curry leaves
1 piece tamarind (size of gooseberry)
4 red chillies
2 green chillies
salt to taste.
mustard and urad dal for seasoning
1 spoon oil
Roast the peanuts and chillies and onions. Add tamarind, ginger, curry leaves, coconut, salt and grind together to form a smooth paste. Season with mustard and urad dal. Serve with idli or dosas.
Note: you could add 1 clove garlic while roasting and grinding.

ReplyDeleteI love groundnut chutney but sadly here in US we can't do it with the blenders we get, we need a real mixer/grinder like in India. This is an awesome recipe.

Hi rads,
ReplyDeleteMe too in US i tried the chutney with the blender
it really came out well as we do in Mixer grinder
but before that ensure your blender blades have been fitted tightly. First time it came off becos of pressure.
It's so spicy.. The Groundnut Chutney recipe was very nice in an Andhra Style Recipes and easy making of this recipe was so good to have in breakfast, Thanks.
